Using Kronos on a MAC
In order to log your time online using Kronos, I have found a little trick to make it work on my Mac. This article explains how.
When you click the Kronos link in Route Y, it takes you to a forwarding page with a bunch of random text. Most of us would simply click “Workforce Employees” because, well, that is what most student employees are. But, if you log into Kronos that way, there is an error as soon as the page loads… there is no way to clock in/out. (It is possible to get to your timecard this way if you’re quick).
Instead, click on “Kronos Managers.” This Java-based setup is meant mostly for people with more power than I have… but when I log in, it takes me to the same Kronos system, and the Java works much better than the other one’s flawed HTML setup.
So, that’s my little secret for using Kronos… and a little tip for surviving BYU with a Mac. Not just surviving… LIVING.
