Firefox 2.0 is here for all of you web browsers. It’s nothing huge, but the Mozilla folks have incorporated a few favorite extensions and a number of little fixes into their latest release. Try alt clicking links to download whatever files are on the other end, and enjoy the drag-and-drop tabs with their convenient little close buttons.

As a new BYU MUG member, I feel that I have a duty to disseminate any useful tips and/or tricks that I’ve come across. Actually, my wife comes across a lot of them, but I quickly claim them for my own.

In the event that you want double scroll arrows on the top AND on the bottom of each scroll bar, power up the terminal and type the following commands. I can’t live without my double scroll arrows.

Once you’re done, you’ll have to restart your programs to see the effect. To reverse your work, go to the Appearance pane in System Preferences and toggle the scroll arrow radio buttons.
-- defaults write "Apple Global Domain" AppleScrollBarVariant DoubleBoth

Click fn-Delete to delete forward instead of backward on a macbook.

If you’re having trouble deleting files, use the following terminal command to make your trash can a black hole. This is one powerful command. I always restart my computer to reverse it, but then, I kind of like getting rid of files in one easy step. — sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash –
