I just recently bought a Mac and I previously used a PC. How do I transfer all my songs from my iTunes on my PC to my new Mac? Thanks!

It turns out that there is a very simple solution to this problem, I took this from Apple's own discussion pages:

1)Choose Consolidate Library from the Advanced menu in Windows iTunes
2)Go into Explorer and find the iTunes Library folder, probably "my documents/my music/ itunes music"
3)Move the music folder to your Mac's Desktop by any means possible, like a DVD, CD or External Hard Drive.
4)Finally, open iTunes then drag and drop the whole library right into iTunes.

That should do it for you :-).

...as for step 3, it depends on how many files are being transferred. If it's less than 4 Gigs, I'd recommend using a DVD. It's simple and not messy at all.

If you've got more than that (like 20-60 gigs) and you don't want to mess with burning a DVD, an external drive is going to be your answer. The only trick with this will be having to format it in the right format to read on both your mac and pc. The right format for this is FAT or FAT32.

You can also use a FireWire or Ethernet cord to connect the two computers and that'll do the trick without having to burn anything.

Just hook them up together and wait for one to recognize the other (I don't exactly know how it runs on a windows machine, but Macs usually recognize things pretty easily, and it's pretty simple to access the other computer)

Just make sure you have file sharing turned on on your windows machine
