You might notice that we don't have many questions for you to search through, that's all the more reason for you to ask us a question. The more questions we stockpile here, the better the database and the easier it is to find answers. So go ahead, ask a question, no matter how trivial or difficult it might be. All questions are posted anonymously, so no one will even know it was you (unless, of you course, you really want people to know. I mean, we could just put your name on the end of it or something if that's what you want.)

Has anyone switched over to Snow Leopard yet? It's available for free download at software.byu.edu. I'm wondering if any FT employees who have a microsoft exchange account have encountered any problems using Mail and iCal for your email and calendaring now that Snow provides better support for that. (Currently, I use Entourage to access my byu exchange account email and calendar.)

I also was reading some other forums that there may be some buggy issues with Microsoft Office after installing Snow. Has anyone had any problems?

My fiances Macbook hard-drive appears to have failed. It is three years old, and when she tries to start it up it just flashes the folder with a question mark in it. Do you have any suggestions for repairing this? If needed we would just get a new hard drive and replace it, but do you know how we could get the data off the old hard drive?

Thanks!

I have set up my MacBook to receive eMail when I had the computer at home in Denver. Now that I'm a student here at BYU,I wnat to set up the Apple "mail" program to still receive eMail with my old comcast.net eMail address and not have to change my eMail address to a byu.edu address - but since I'm on the BYU.edu service is this even possible? Please send your responses to my Dad: dprusse@greatwestinc.com Thanks

I love iDVD!! I know there is tons to learn about this program, is there any upcoming classes on the basics of it? Or even someone that i could get in touch with to learn from?

I just recently bought a Mac and I previously used a PC. How do I transfer all my songs from my iTunes on my PC to my new Mac? Thanks!

When are the Apple information sessions this week?

I have had my MacBook since January and have never had a problem with Mail until I tried to use it in conjunction with the BYU network. I am able to download email from online email accounts (gmail, hotmail, and a previous universities email server) but after writing an email while connected to the BYU network the send function does not work. All outgoing messages are just archived in the Outbox and I can't send them until I arrive home and connect to my personal network.

I have a feeling that this is no longer possible. Or at least it seemed that way when I read the descriptions setting it up, but here goes.

When setting up my BYU email account in Mail preferences I set the server to nm.bye.edu and then put my user id and password, yet it does not work. Is there a way to fix this?

Is there any way to display how many unread messages I have in my menu bar?

Hey all,

Im a new convert to mac and love my macbook. I love how my mac lets me live life instead of making me spend all my time fixing it (*cough* Vista *cough* Xp *cough*), sounds cheesy I know, but its the truth. Once you go mac, you won't go back.

My question is this,

I have brought with me to college my old hard drive in a USB case. Is there a program or tool I can use to that helps the with migration of all my data onto my new mac? I've heard such programs exist but I'm not sure what they are called...
